My Card is Being Declined Due to "Service Not Allowed"

Solution

Payments declined for "Serv not allowed", "error 0000057" or "Service Not Allowed" are being declined by the card issuer because of a restriction on the credit card or account. Restrictions can be because of:

  • The line of business of the merchant you are paying - for example, a business credit card may prevent personal service transactions.
  • The type of transaction - for example, your card may prevent online purchases.

In all cases, the solution is to contact the institution that issued the card and change the restriction rules for the card. Once the restrictions have been changed, you should be able to immediately make your payment.

If you are using a corporate credit card, you may need to work with your accounting department.
